  • As premiums often tend to increase with age; buying them young would be a good move.
  • Buying insurance when one is healthy and do not have any pre-existing medical condition will help make the plan more beneficial for the insured.
  • Health and age are the two primary factors determining the conditions and terms in the plan as well as the premium.

Naturally, one would enroll under some insurance plan for financial benefits to accrue at real times. Life insurance can also be used as savings mechanism providing the family of the deceased necessary financial support at real times. Some other uses of the plan could be for paying for the big ticket items or for paying taxes or meeting the funeral expenses. Although there could be various other uses as well; these are some of the most common uses of insurance plans.

Life Insurance for Singles

Often a question is put by people who are singles regarding the relevance of any of the life insurance plans for them. As they do not have any survivor or beneficiaries on whom such benefits will bestow in case of their untimely death, many do not feel that they require any such insurance plan.

Some of the questions that might come up are –

  • Do such single has any dependents?
  • Do such single have cosigner that will be booked for some mortgage that they took up together?
  • Is there some medical precondition requiring the financial benefits to accrue?
  • In case of death; whether there will be enough funds to cover the funeral expenses.

When all the answers are affirmative, there may not be any necessity of going for the life insurance for singles. If on the other hand some or all of the answers are negative then there may be requirement of enrolling under some life insurance plan for adequate coverage.

Extent and Price of Coverage

No hard and fast rule can be determined regarding the extent or the price of the insurance coverage. However, a time tested practice is going for a plan for 15/20 times of the annual income of a person as the assured sum on maturity of the plan. A good move would be obtaining advice from the agents or financial experts on the issue.

Is Medical Examination Necessary

More often than not the insurance companies look for medical pre conditions in the client. In such cases they charge higher premiums from the client basing on their health history. While the life insurance medical examinations may not be essential for the younger people they certainly are for the older people. Basic blood and urine tests are often required to be eligible for coverage under some insurance plan.

Fact remains that; if the client is below 40, there may not be any requirement of medical examination. However, as one grows older, they become necessities.
